1 lb of pork sausage
1/2 block of cream cheese (I believe that is 4 oz)
1 can of crescent rolls.
Ok, So what you do is brown your sausage in a pan, drain and then mix it up with the cream cheese. (you want the cream cheese to be soft, makes it much easier to mix).
Set this aside and spray a square baking dish, or cookie sheet with cooking spray. Spread half the crescent rolls in the dish kind of like this
Then you will want to spread a thin layer across the crescent rolls of the sausage/cream cheese spread like this:
Once you spread that evenly, layer the other half of the crescent rolls across the top of it and pinch it around the edges to from a pie type edge.
Pop that in a 375 degree preheated oven for 12 minutes and you are good to go!
we make this exact recipe, but we lay out the dough and spread it on some wax paper into a rectangular shape. then spread the cream cheese/sausage mixture onto it. then i roll it up and refrigerate it over night. in the morning, you just cut slices from the roll and cook them. we call them sausage pinwheels. you can mix it up a little bit if you want to try it! you can't go wrong though because it just tastes so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteWhen you make them into pinwheels, they are now a great appetizer or party food......not just for breakfast anymore!!!!
