Buttermilk Biscuits

I got this recipe from Gregg's grandmother. He loves her homemade biscuits. I thought I would give it a try. After a few flops, I finally perfected it. I actually added a little of my own to it! :) I thought I would share it with all of you so that you could enjoy the wonderful taste of these biscuits! :)

What you need:
1 1/2 cup of SELF-RISING flour
4 Tablespoons of oil (I sometimes use bacon grease if I make these while I am frying bacon)
1 cup of buttermilk

                                                                                     What you do:
I use an iron skillet but if you don't have one you can use a round cake pan. Coat the pan/skillet with oil. Turn oven to 350 degrees. Mix the above ingredients until well blended. I lay a sheet of parchment paper or saran wrap down and give it a nice heavy sprinkle of flour. I dump the dough out on to the paper/flour and coat my hands in flour (you have to do this constantly throughout this so you may wanna pour about 1/2 cup of flour in a bowl). I sprinkle flour across the top of the dough and start pressing it down. I pinch off a piece of the dough and roll it in to balls and then flatten it a little. Do that until you have filled the pan/skillet.

Once you have that done, I put butter on top of each dough ball. I bake it in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until well browned. I get it out, set a plate upside down on top of it and flip them on to the plate and serve! :)

I completely forgot to take a picture of the final product! There weren't any left! Sorry! :(
